The piece is then carefully and thoroughly cleaned by both scrubbing as well as pickling (immersing in an acidic cleaning solution kept warm in a crock pot)

This deep one of a kind pattern is achieved by hand painting a resist on the steel I have cut out and then placing them in an etching solution. Domed, they have a decided "right" and "left" and frame your face in beautifully.
