This box is classic of the Burmese style and is usually made from woven grass or bamboo. The lacquer work over the top give the box extraordinary strength and durability. As well as tiffin boxes, these were used by families to take rice to the Buddhist Temples for offerings or for the resident monks. It's in very good condition for it's age
