Brass & Iron Marwari Trousseau Box From Shekhawati - 19th Century Jali Panel It's constructed using the floatingThis beautiful antique Indian brass trousseau box is from Shekhawati and is an excellent example of the style and dates to the 19th century. These boxes are locally called peti (casket) and were originally used to store the trousseau (bridal clothes & jewellery). Each box is lined with fabric to safeguard the expensive contents. This box unusually is adorned with mirrors fixed to the inside of the lid. The body of the box is constructed from roheda
