ललितासहस्ननाम ब्रह्माण्डपुराण का शीर्षक “ललितोपाख्यान' के रूप में है। ललितासहस्ननाम मूल रूप में कई स्थानों से प्रकाशित हुआ है। सर जान वुडरफ विल्सन ( एवलोन ) ने तांत्रिक  ग्रन्थों में इसका अनेक स्थानों पर उल्लेख किया है। संस्कृत के अतिरिक्त अंग्रेजी में इसका भाष्य श्री आर० अनन्तकृष्ण शास्त्री ने किया है। तमिल में भी इसका भाष्य है। संस्कृत में इसकी परिभाषा 'सौभाग्यभास्कर' नाम से महान्‌ मनीषी भास्करराय ने की है। सभी भाष्यों का आधार भास्कर- राय-प्रणीत सौभाग्यभास्कर है। इस स्तोत्र को अत्यधिक लोकप्रिय बनाने का श्रेय इन्हें ही है। इन्हीं का दीक्षा नाम भासुरानन्दनाथ है। प्रस्तुत हिन्दी व्याख्या पूर्णतया इन्हीं के भाष्य पर आधारित है । सर्वप्रथम 'सौभाग्यभास्कर का प्रकाशन निर्णयसागर प्रेस
